MYSTIQUE DINNER THEATER
Mystique is successful because of the involvement of local talents and performance art enthusiasts. The personal satisfaction that comes from being involved even remotely with a production that is professionally staged is unmeasurable. It is our sincere desire that those people who wish to be involved approach us with their skills and interests. Often great talents are intimidated by fear of insufficient experience. To put it bluntly, let us decide that. Many first time stage performers have carried leads in our productions and as a result, it has been an experience of a lifetime.
JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT
Auditions for the children parts will be held August 26, 27, 28, between 4 and 6 pm at Mystique Theater.
Lisa Woodland will direct the show. Performers need to have a song and be prepared to dance for auditions. Mystique has not done the show of five years, so there will be plenty of opportunity to secure a part in this fun production.
Please be prepared to do a verse from a song and a dance routine. GOOD LUCK! AND DO YOUR BEST!
The attachment below must be completed for all auditions. Please print it and bring it to auditions with you. Please scroll to bottom of this page for the PDF link.

AUDITION TIPS, ADVICE & SUGGESTIONS
1. Be prepared. Practice, practice, practice! You are trying to put your very best self front and center so work for it.
2. Wear appropriate clothing. Auditions usually involve a dance and movement routine. Wear something that allows flexibility, is modest and flatters your body. Shoes should be comfortable and graceful. Avoid elaborate
costumes, hand props are ok.
3. Practice in front of a mirror. Better yet, video tape yourself and break habits such as pacing, shaking, biting lips, pulling at clothes, hair etc. Keep your eye level up and shoulders back so you present confidence.
4. Select a song that is similar to the music in the show. Avoid contemporary or concert pieces. DO NOT SING OVER ANOTHER SINGER! DO NOT SING A CAPELLA! Preferably bring a CD minus track or an accompanist, a piano will be provided.
5. Be enthusiastic, not timid, and most of all try to enjoy yourself. The directors are wanting you to succeed and they are glad you want to participate.
6. If you are not cast, do not take it personally. The dynamics of casting a production are complicated. Age, height, size, colors, dance skills, vocal skills, stage presence, comparison to an opposing lead, scheduling conflicts, attitudes, etc. all contribute to the mix and ultimately the end result
